Day-wise Itinerary
- Day 1: Jaipur/Delhi to Manali by Volvo
Your Spiti adventure begins from Jaipur, where travellers will board the bus from Sindhi Camp / Transport Nagar between 8:00 PMβ10:00 PM. Travellers joining from Delhi will board from Kashmiri Gate between 10:00 PMβ11:00 PM. Both groups will begin their overnight journey towards Manali, where you will meet your trip captain and fellow travellers and start your exciting Himalayan adventure. Dinner will be self-paid.
- Day 2: Manali Acclimatisation & Local Exploration
Upon arrival in Manali, you will check into your hotel and spend the day relaxing and acclimatising to the mountain environment. Since the upcoming journey takes you towards the higher-altitude regions of Spiti Valley, this day allows your body to adjust to the changing altitude. You can spend your free time exploring Manali at your own pace, visiting Mall Road, local markets and cafΓ©s, or simply relaxing at the hotel and enjoying the beautiful mountain surroundings.
- Day 3: Manali to KazaAfter breakfast, you will check out from your Manali hotel and begin your scenic drive towards Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley. The journey will take you deeper into the Himalayas, with breathtaking views of the changing landscapes along the way. As you move towards Spiti, the lush green mountains gradually transform into the dramatic barren landscapes that the valley is famous for. You will continue towards Kaza and, subject to the road and arrival conditions, explore Chicham Bridge, Key Monastery and the local market. After reaching Kaza, you will check into your hotel, have dinner and relax for the night.
- Day 4: Kaza Exploration
After breakfast, you will begin your full-day sightseeing around Kaza and explore some of the most fascinating high-altitude destinations of Spiti Valley. The day will take you to Hikkim, famous for its high-altitude post office, followed by Langza, known for its iconic Buddha statue and spectacular mountain views. You will then visit Komic, one of the highest villages connected by a motorable road. You can enjoy lunch at the World's Highest Cafe at your own expense and later visit the World's Highest Ice Cream Shop. After exploring these unique high-altitude destinations, you will return towards Kaza, explore the local market and then head back to your hotel for dinner.
- Day 5: Kaza to ChandratalAfter an early breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the breathtaking Chandratal Lake. The route takes you through some of the most spectacular and rugged landscapes of the Spiti Valley. Upon reaching the Chandratal region, you will get time to explore the beautiful lake and its surrounding mountains. A βΉ300 Forest/Union charge and βΉ400 private 4x4 vehicle charge will be payable separately as applicable, as regular vehicles are not permitted to travel all the way to the lake. After exploring Chandratal, you will proceed towards the campsite and spend the night surrounded by the stunning Himalayan landscape.
- Day 6: Chandratal to Shimla & Return to Jaipur/DelhiAfter breakfast, you will check out from the Chandratal campsite and begin your return journey towards Shimla. Enjoy the scenic mountain drive as you gradually make your way towards the lower Himalayan region. Upon reaching Shimla, travellers heading towards Delhi will board the designated bus towards Delhi, while Jaipur travellers will board the designated bus towards Jaipur as per the return transportation arrangement. Jaipur travellers will reach Jaipur and Delhi travellers will reach Delhi according to their respective bus schedules, marking the end of the Spiti Valley Short Circuit.
